Almond oil is extracted from sweet almonds, as opposed to bitter almond. Both can create an oil, but sweet almonds are the most nutritious for the body. With generous amounts of monounsaturated fatty acids, vitamin E, potassium, proteins, zinc, and a number of other vitamins and minerals, almond oil does wonders for the body and skin.
The almond originated in southwest Asia and the Middle East, as far as the Indus River in Pakistan. Although commonly grouped with other tree nuts like cashews, almonds are actually a fruit with an outer shell and the seed inside.
Almond oil can lower cholesterol, reduce heart disease, lower blood sugar and minimize the risk of diabetes.
Country of Origin: Middle East
Almond oil clears the complexion but also imparts a warm glow to the skin. It nourishes the skin with vitamins like E, A and B, which locks in moisture while the oil is absorbed into the skin cells. The vitamin E and fatty acids present in this oil reverse and prevent signs of aging, helping skin renew and fight wrinkles.
